This dish is as simple as A, B, C ..... just marinate the pork fillet with the seasoning, pan fry till cooked through and you're done. Load it with some salad for extra fibre and dinner is ready!
Serve this with hot rice or just sandwhich it between two slices of wholemeal bread, some salad and you'll have a very wholesome and satisfying meal. Mmm ... the juicy and succulent meat, so yummy!
Ingredients
- 400 gm pork fillet, sliced to about 1/4 inch thick
- Salad and cucumber slices for garnishing
- Oil for frying
- 3 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp Teriyaki sauce
- 1/2 tsp each of light soya sauce, dark soya sauce and cornflour
- freshly ground black pepper
- Wash, pat dry and tenderise the pork fillet with a meat hammer.
- Marinate the meat with the above seasoning for an hour or more, mixing it occasionally.
- Heat up a non-stick frying pan with 1 Tbsp oil, add in the marinated meat and fry.
- Flip them from side to side and sprinkle in some water when the meat gets too dry.
- Fry till meat is cooked through, tender and a bit brown at the edges.
- Serve the panfried fillet on a bed of greens and garnish with a ring of cucumber slices.
- Serve with plain white rice or bread.

I used 'Mui yoke' or there's another 'Kar Mui yoke', those parts are very tender.

I used Kikkoman teriyaki marinade. You can go to this post, I've got a picture of the marinade.

If you use the fillet, hammer to tenderise it, it won't be coarse.
Hi, I have just cook this dish, my girls love it...the only problem is the meat is tough. I have hammer the meat before seasoning. May I know which part of the pork do u use, how u tell the butcher which part you want. I just tell him i want to make pork chop, the part he gave me don't make good pork chop. spoil my dish.

ReplyDeleteNormally they'll give you the 'yoke ngan'which by right is for pork chop, and has a better taste but tough. I asked for
'mui yoke' or 'kar mui yoke' which is pork fillet and it's soft. Hope this helps!
Thanks..will cook this dish again.
ReplyDeleteEmily :)
Hi,just check with u, if i can use the teriyaki sauce to season salmon. I wanted to pan fried salmon, using teriyaki sauce?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Emily Koh
Emily
ReplyDeleteYup, you can do that. Just marinate the salmon with some teriyaki sauce and set it aside for a while. Then pan fry it but not too long, otherwise the salmon becomes tough.
Thanks! I never cook Salmon before but my girl had been asking for it. Will cook and let u know.
